Clinique Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness with Limited Edition Blush

It is that time of year where brands bring out limited edition products to support a very good cause. The cause I am talking about is the Breast Cancer Care Foundation and their ribbon logo is well known across the world. October is the main month where brands sell limited edition products to raise funds for the foundation. This month is also about making people aware of breast cancer and how to check for signs of any cancer within the breasts. All the money raised in October will mean Breast Cancer Care can provide nurses, local services and a support network for free to all those people who need it.

Clinique is one of the main brands that support this foundation by bringing out limited edition versions of their products. The main one for 2015 is a limited edition cheek pop called Pink With a Purpose. Cheek pops are one of Clinique’s best selling products this year and they wanted to bring out a special one for this cause.
Clinique Pink With A Purpose Cheek Pop

Pink With a Purpose cheek pop comes in the same packaging as the standard cheek pop. The blush has an embossed berry ribbon to show their support rather than the flower design. Cheek pops are usually silky, natural looking and this cheek pop should be no different. The colour of the blush is a berry pink which should look subtle and natural when applied to the skin. The pictures show the blush as a bright pink but in reality it is a berry pink. You can build up the layers to create a more intense and bold blush look to the skin.

Clinique Pink With A Purpose Cheek Pop
Also when you buy this cheek pop, you will receive a mini bright pink pouch that can be used to keep the blush secure when travelling or can be used as a coin purse if you need one urgently. The Pink With a Purpose cheek pop costs £17 but Clinique will donate £2 to breast cancer for each one sold. This blush will be sold on their website, in boots, Debenhams and House of Fraser for the month of October.

I definitely will be purchasing this cheek pop because it is for a great cause and it looks like a great product.

The Pink with purpose cheek pop is out on the 8th October 2015.

Upcoming Product - Collection Illuminating Touch Foundation

Collection are on a roll with bringing out brand new products into their range at the moment. They have recently launched a contour kit and a highlighter stick. Now they are about to launch a brand new foundation to complement another product which is the illuminating touch concealer. Yes, they are bringing out an illuminating touch foundation to add to the illuminating touch range.
Collection Illuminating Touch Foundation
The illuminating touch foundation is meant to give a flawless and radiant look to the skin by using light reflecting pigments within the formula. If you have dull skin this will work for you since this will lighten the skin to give a radiance boosting look and make you look more awake. This foundation is hydrating to the skin, which will be perfect for people who have dry skin and struggle to find any foundations that will not show any dry patches. The formula is medium to high coverage which will help to cover any problem areas like blemishes and redness. You can build the coverage up without looking cakey to make it full coverage.  Collection also claims this foundation to be long lasting that will stay all day without moving or slipping off the face. They also claim on their website that this foundation will give you a 'your skin but better' look.
Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer
The foundation comes in a glass bottle that has a frosted finish and comes with a black pump and a lid. I do like how foundations come with a pump and a lid for it. However, because of the glass bottle, it will make the weight of this foundation a lot heavier and if you drop it on the floor, then it will smash.

There are six shades of this foundation; Porcelain (1), Ivory (2), Cool Beige (3), Warm Beige (4), Honey (5) and Golden (6).

Personally, I am not sure if I will try this foundation since I have oily skin and have a natural shine from the oils within my skin. I might try this in the winter time when the weather turns colder and my skin needs a bit of a boost.

Collection Illuminating Touch Foundation
The Collection illuminating touch foundation will be available from Superdrug/Wilko on the 23rd September and will later be available in Boots on the 30th September 2015 at a cost of £ 5.99 each. Collection already have a web page for this foundation ready for its launch, but it is still too early to buy online.

New Product Alert - Clinique 2 in 1 Beyond Perfecting Powder Foundation and Concealer

Clinique only recently launched the beyond perfecting foundation and concealer in a liquid form and that was a big hit apart from the colour range for pale people like me. However they are now releasing the beyond perfecting foundation and concealer in a powder form. So this will be a powder foundation instead of the liquid form to give people more choice. I am not a person who goes for powder foundations because I have oily and blemish prone skin in which I think the powder would not cover my blemishes and just make my skin look worse. However I am very intrigued by this and I cannot wait till this launches into stores so I can try it.

Clinique 2 in 1 Beyond Perfecting Powder Foundation and Concealer

Clinique claims this product to be lightweight and will not clog pores to give a natural, beyond perfected look that should last all day. This powder foundation and concealer should last when the weather is hot and should stay put through sweat and humidity. The skin should be able to breathe through the powder and the colour will stay the same rather than oxides or change colour. Also this powder is oil free which is great for oily and blemish prone skin.  Clinique also claim this product to have a moisture locking formula that helps any dry patches on the skin to look flawless without sticking to those areas.

Clinique 2 in 1 Beyond Perfecting Powder Foundation and Concealer

The applicator that comes with the powder is shaped like a tear drop and has two sides which gives you a choice on what kind of coverage you would like. The sponge side is for a light coverage and the velvet/fluffy side can buff the product into the skin and can give a high coverage. I do like how this applicator is different from the bog standard sponge you get with products and I like how this has a pointed tip which is handy to spot conceal areas like blemishes and can reach the harder to get areas unlike with the flat side of the sponge.

The Clinique 2 in 1 beyond perfecting powder foundation and concealer comes in 10 shades and costs £27. This is now out (launched 4th September) online and in store and looks to be a permanent part of the ‘beyond perfecting range’.

Seventeen on the spot foundation review

A little while ago, Seventeen launched their on the spot foundation and this was really hyped up by bloggers and youtubers at the time. I had to buy this foundation when it came out due to the claims it made. Apparently it will reduce spots in four weeks which is pretty good for a blemish foundation. I have never used a blemish foundation before and I do have quite a few blemishes, so this was a must buy.

I have been using this foundation for the past month to two months, so I would know if it has actually worked or not. The shade I have is Porcelain which is the second lightest in the colour range and the foundation also has spf 15.

At first I thought the foundation was a screw top but no, it was a pump and this I love because I find I can control how much product I get out by using a pump. Plus using a pump makes it more hygienic and saves on wasting product. The foundation is a thick consistency and I really do not need a lot of product to cover my whole face. I use one pump to cover my whole face and I still have a bit of product left over which I use on my neck to blend out any foundation lines.

Seventeen claim it is a full coverage foundation but I have to say I think it is a medium coverage foundation due to not covering up any scars, blemishes or dark circles. This is a bad point because full coverage is meant to cover all these areas and not to use a concealer over the top. However with this foundation I still have to use a concealer on any blemishes that still show up through the foundation. My dark circles still  show up and it seems that this foundation does not cover up dark circles at all.

This foundation has a spot fighting ingredient called salicylic acid and this is the main ingredient to try and combat breakouts and blemishes. It doesn't say what the percentage of salicylic acid is in the foundation but it will not be that much compared to a facial wash.

Even though it doesn't cover up anything, I still like this foundation because it blends easily with my skin and it doesn't take too long to blend. I usually apply two small layers to make sure I have the best coverage I can get out of this foundation.

I find that this foundation lasts all day with a setting powder such as the Rimmel stay matte powder. It lasts most of the day which is what I like in a foundation as well.

Over all I quite like this foundation despite the lack of coverage on blemishes and dark circles. I quite like how thick the foundation is and there are about six shades in total and I am the second to lightest which is pretty amazing since sometimes I am the lightest shade it is still looks too dark but the colour on this one is nearly my skin tone and doesn't look too light or dark, its just right.

I have heard some reviews saying its not a good foundation but I think it depends on your skin tone and if you have problem skin.

Have your tried this foundation? If so what is your opinion whether you like it or not?

MUA and Fashionista Haul

Hello everyone.

A little while ago, I was on the MUA website when I noticed that they were doing a half price sale on their products and Fashionista products.I did go a bit mad with the spending but I know I will use all the products I bought at some point.
The first item I bought was the famous Undress your skin foundation. This has been talked about on blogs and YouTube videos and most of the comments made about this foundation is that it is a good natural looking foundation. This foundation is from MUA which is a budget makeup brand in the UK. MUA claim that this foundation 'covers imperfections and blemishes whilst maintaining your skins natural glow with light-diffusing particles of shimmer that creates instant radiance'. This foundation sounds very interesting and this might work for me since it does cover blemishes and imperfections. However the shimmer might be a problem since I have oily skin, so I might look like a glitter ball. I am excited to try this out.
The next product I bought was Fashionista skin brightening face highlighter. This is a big tube of shimmery highlighter and if you know me, I absolutely love highlighters. This one is a yellow/gold tone with shimmer.I think this would be perfect for the summer and will look great on any skin tones. They claim it is a 'perfect skin enhancer containing light-diffusing particles that deliver instant luminosity to your complexion.
The third product I bought was the Fashionista fashion secret mattifying primer. I am very interested in primers because as I said before, I have oily skin which means I need to have a primer on my skin before make-up to try and keep my makeup lasting on my face all day. They claim this is a 'velvety matte formula to help control unwanted shine and smooths the skin for a seamless matte finish'. To me, this sounds very similar to the Gosh velvet touch primer, so I see a comparison video/blog on this primer and the Gosh one very soon.
I bought another primer and it is by Fashionista again and it is the flawless primer. They claim it is a 'velvety soft formula that evens out skin tone and targets fine lines and pores to give the skin a bright and flawless complexion. This is another interesting primer because I suffer from large pores so this is right up my street. I hope it can reduce the appearance of my pores.
The fifth product I bought was a ready to wear luminous foundation by Fashionista again. This foundation comes in a glass bottle which makes it feel a lot heavier in weight and is more likely to break when or if dropped. They claim it is a 'luminous foundation that makes your skin appear radiantly healthy and flawless. Another brilliant sounding foundation.
Next up is a concealer and it is the ready to wear brush on concealer by Fashionista. This is basically a concealer with a brush on the end to dispatch the product. I am not a big fan of brush on concealers but I thought I might as well give it a whirl and a chance. They claim it conceals and brightens. I really love trying out concealers.
The next product is the ready to shine stopper loose powder. I have only tried one loose powder in my life and that was the natural collection loose powder. I am happy to try another loose powder and they claim it 'banishes the shine on the go with this handy handbag size loose powder with added minerals. This jar contains the product and a mirror and a little powder puff which is not very useful but looks nice as a decoration. I hope it gets rid of the oil I have half way through the day.
The last foundation that I bought was the MUA matte foundation which is from their basic range, so I am not expecting a huge amount from this but it might just surprise me. They claim it is a 'creamy texture that blends beautifully for that perfect velvet finish and long lasting matte complexion'. Lets just hope it does actually do that when I try it out.
The final product I bought was a palette from Fashionista and I bought three things to put into the palette. I originally ordered another eyeshadow called double take but they gave me a refund a couple of days later and it must of been sold before they could of taken it of the website. Anyway I bought another eyeshadow called 'Meadows'. It is a light green with shimmer and I have actually tried it and I think it is quite patchy due to the shimmer but it can be easily build able for a fresh look on the eyes. The next one is a blush in 'Rose Shine' and it is a pink colour with sparkle. The last one is a bronzer in 'Rome' and I think this is too light for a bronzer but too dark for a highlighter. This bronzer has two colours in the pan, a light bronze colour with lines of dark mixed in. Also the palette has a huge mirror which is perfect for a traveling around with this. Lastly this palette can be used to take various items due to the push out and click in any item you want which is perfect.

Overall that is my MUA and Fashionista haul. I am excited to try out all these products and give you my opinion.

Upcoming beauty products for September 2013

Hello, I have six brand new launches coming out in the month of September and there are more launches but I would actually buy these products.

The first one is by Sleek makeup and it is their vintage romance collection. This collection consists of two products, one is an I Divine pallet in Showstoppers and a blush called Vintage. The colours in the i divine palette are all very autumn inspired such as berry colours and very neutral brown colours. Also there are three finishes to the eyeshadows; matte, shimmer and sparkle which is the norm for sleek limited edition palettes. The blush is a neutral but very shimmery and sparkly. The sparkle is an iridescent silver glitters which could look over powerful if applied too much. As I have said before this is a limited edition collection, so I would get it before they run out of stock or stop selling it. The eyeshadow palette is £7.99 and the blush costs £4.99.

The next one is a blush by Benefit. I have already done a blog post on the new benefit blush. Please see the following link for more information about the Benefit blush - http://laurensmart1993.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/benefit-rockateur-new-launch.html

The third product being launched in the month of September is by Models Own. Models Own are releasing the firework collection. I love the names of the nail polishes and the name of the whole collection. The firework collection includes five glitter nail polishes. These glitter nail polishes can be used as a top coat over another nail polish or on their own. Sparkler contains holographic strands in a clear base. Catherine Wheel contains four glitters which includes mini gold strands, red dots and holographic strands. Banger contains blue strands, two shades of blue hexes and fuchsia micro glitter in a clear base. Roman Candle contains pink glitter with black and silver strands in a clear base. Lastly Rocket contains red strands with black dots in a clear base. They each costs £5 but I know on the Models Own website, they will usually do a deal where you buy the whole lot for £20 pound. This collection has already been launched in their bottle shops, 2nd September for the official Models Own website, 4th September for Boots stores and 25th September for superdrug stores.

The next nail polish collection launch is Essie. Essie are releasing six new shades for the autumn and winter 2013. The names of the nail polishes follow, For the twill of it which is a rich maple with reflective olive shimmer. After school boy blazer which is a deep midnight blue. Twin sweater set which is a vibrant crimson red. Cashmere bathrobe which is a soft, true grey. The lace iron which is a jewel toned fuchsia. Lastly Vested interest which is a woollen cool grey teal. This collection is getting launched in Boots and Superdrug at £7.99 each.

The second to last one is by MUA and it is a brand new palette. I don't know what the name of this palette is called but I know it is a neutral toned palette. The first row of colours start from very light highlight colours to light browns. Then the second row is from medium to dark browns with one very deep/grey blue. I think this palette will be under £5 like with the other palettes from MUA.

The last product is from Rimmel London and it is their new stay matte mousse foundation. This is a lightweight, shine control, long lasting foundation.  Their are six shades; light porcelain, Ivory, True ivory, Soft beige, Classic beige and Natural beige. This foundation will be release on 4th September in Boots and superdrug at £5,99.

These are all the products coming out in September. I hoped you liked this post.

Free 7 Day Trial Sample Of YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat

I think you can guess what this post is going to be about from the title, you can get a free 7 day trial sample of the new Yves Saint Laurent or YSL foundation. This foundation is highly recommended by all the beauty bloggers and beauty gurus on youtube. Everyone is commenting on how the foundation is perfect and a long time coming. YSL released their touche eclat highlighting/concealer pen years ago and it was about time they released a foundation just like the concealer pen.

The Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation was released about a month ago, so still pretty new on the beauty market. However it is £28 per bottle, which is very expensive. For that amount of money for a foundation, I would like to at least either read reviews or try it out for myself before purchasing.

Now then, for the best part of this post, is that you can get a free 7 day trial sample from YSL of this foundation. I think you can go to any YSL counter in any shop and claim the sample and I will leave the link below to the website. You will need to print a page out saying you can claim the sample and just hand it into a YSL counter. Lastly you can get your free sample on the 21st July 2012 and it does depend on how quickly the samples go. Thats all you need to do to try out the Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation for 7 days.

(By the way, if the link does not work, then it is on the YSL facebook page)

L'oreal Lumi Magique Foundation And Primer/BB Sample!

L'oreal recently launched their new foundation Lumi Magique into shops and the feedback i have seen, has shown that this foundation is quite good. However it is quite pricey for a drugstore foundation, so having a sample of the foundation before you buy is a great idea.

As i said, L'oreal are currently still giving out samples of the lumi magique foundation and there is a surprise when you open the sample package. You will also get a sample of their primer/BB cream. This is quite nice of them since i had no clue that i was going to recieve another sample along with it.

If you want a sample of the new Lumi Magique foundation then please follow this link which directs you to the page :)
