New Product Alert - Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette

If you are subscribed to my Youtube channel, then you would know I am a sucker for highlighters and this palette is right up my street.

Sleek launched a highlighter palette late last year, which went down a storm. Now they have created a brand new palette with new shades ready for the Christmas period. This palette comes in a nice, pretty rose gold packaging, which is the 'in thing' at the moment. I think making the  packaging a rose gold colour makes the palette extra special and makes it look more higher end than it is.
Within the palette itself, it comes with a mirror that covers one side and a brush to apply the product with. I usually don’t bother with the brushes that come with the palettes due to the brush being a bit crap and worthless. But if you are travelling, then it is an ok make-up tool to have. The palette comes with four highlighters that are all different colours that can be used in different areas of the face and body. Two of the four highlighters are baked powders, one is a shimmer powder and the last one is a cream formula. So you do get a good variety of textures and colours in this palette. The top two highlighters are Ecliptic which is a champagne cream and Hemisphere which is a pink/purple baked highlighter. The bottom two are subsolar which is a yellow shimmer powder and Equinox is a bronze baked powder. Apparently Equinox is a dupe for the Becca highlighter in champagne pop, but is a lot affordable and easy to get in the UK.
I do like how there are different colours of highlighter, with different formulas to suit everyone's needs. Sleek claims this palette to enhance the complexion with a radiant glow with a metallic finish that gives a sheen to the skin. They also say these highlighters can be used on all skin tones and can be used for the skin and body.


This is definitely on my make-up wishlist as I love Sleek products and I love highlighters, so I need a trip to Superdrug to find it.

Upcoming beauty products for September 2013

Hello, I have six brand new launches coming out in the month of September and there are more launches but I would actually buy these products.

The first one is by Sleek makeup and it is their vintage romance collection. This collection consists of two products, one is an I Divine pallet in Showstoppers and a blush called Vintage. The colours in the i divine palette are all very autumn inspired such as berry colours and very neutral brown colours. Also there are three finishes to the eyeshadows; matte, shimmer and sparkle which is the norm for sleek limited edition palettes. The blush is a neutral but very shimmery and sparkly. The sparkle is an iridescent silver glitters which could look over powerful if applied too much. As I have said before this is a limited edition collection, so I would get it before they run out of stock or stop selling it. The eyeshadow palette is £7.99 and the blush costs £4.99.

The third product being launched in the month of September is by Models Own. Models Own are releasing the firework collection. I love the names of the nail polishes and the name of the whole collection. The firework collection includes five glitter nail polishes. These glitter nail polishes can be used as a top coat over another nail polish or on their own. Sparkler contains holographic strands in a clear base. Catherine Wheel contains four glitters which includes mini gold strands, red dots and holographic strands. Banger contains blue strands, two shades of blue hexes and fuchsia micro glitter in a clear base. Roman Candle contains pink glitter with black and silver strands in a clear base. Lastly Rocket contains red strands with black dots in a clear base. They each costs £5 but I know on the Models Own website, they will usually do a deal where you buy the whole lot for £20 pound. This collection has already been launched in their bottle shops, 2nd September for the official Models Own website, 4th September for Boots stores and 25th September for superdrug stores. 

The next nail polish collection launch is Essie. Essie are releasing six new shades for the autumn and winter 2013. The names of the nail polishes follow, For the twill of it which is a rich maple with reflective olive shimmer. After school boy blazer which is a deep midnight blue. Twin sweater set which is a vibrant crimson red. Cashmere bathrobe which is a soft, true grey. The lace iron which is a jewel toned fuchsia. Lastly Vested interest which is a woollen cool grey teal. This collection is getting launched in Boots and Superdrug at £7.99 each.

The second to last one is by MUA and it is a brand new palette. I don't know what the name of this palette is called but I know it is a neutral toned palette. The first row of colours start from very light highlight colours to light browns. Then the second row is from medium to dark browns with one very deep/grey blue. I think this palette will be under £5 like with the other palettes from MUA. 

The last product is from Rimmel London and it is their new stay matte mousse foundation. This is a lightweight, shine control, long lasting foundation.  Their are six shades; light porcelain, Ivory, True ivory, Soft beige, Classic beige and Natural beige. This foundation will be release on 4th September in Boots and superdrug at £5,99.

Sleek Med 1 Look - Purple, Pink, Blue and Green

Hiya everyone, so i did this eye make-up tutorial on youtube not so long ago, and i thought i might as well write one as a post as well with pictures. This eye make-up look is really easy to do and all you need is either the sleek Med palette or any purple, pink, blue and green eyeshadows. I used sigma brushes to apply the eyeshadows but you can use any brushes because they all do the same thing. All you need are the eyeshadows, brushes, primer and a mirror to complete this look.

Ok, so the first thing you need to do is too prime your eyelids. This will keep the eyeshadow on your eyelids all day and will make the colours pop. I used the Urban Decay primer potion in orginal. Then i took the sigma short shader brush and applied the purple all over my lids. The purple is called Lotus Flower.

After i applied Lotus flower. I then took a small brush (Unbranded) and took the Mid toned blue from the palette and applied it from the middle to the outer corner of my eyelids. The blue colour is called Humming Bird. Take any blending brush. I used the revlon contour brush and blended out any harsh lines between the purple and the blue colours.

Then take a Hot pink colour and apply this to the outer v and to the crease. Be sure not to go up to far from the outer v. I applied this Hot pink with the sigma E25 but you can use any blending brush you have. The hot pink is called Magenta Madness (Love the names of these eyeshadows).

Take another blending brush but it has to be a clean one. I took the Sigma E35 and applied a green colour into the crease next to the pink. The green is called Kiwi Zest. Take the same blending brush you used to blend the blue and the purple and blend the pink and green together. Then go over the whole eye to make sure their is no harsh lines.

Then take a white/cream colour eyeshadow and apply this under the brow bone. I used my fingers but you can use a brush if you wanted to.

Apply eyeliner and mascara to complete the eye make-up. Then i took the sigma F10 to apply the blush. I used a really hot pink blush from sleek called santorini and applied it to my cheeks. Then to complete the whole look, i used the pout polish by sleek called Monte Carlo which is also another hot pink colour.

 It is pretty simple to do and you can use any type of eyeshadows, blush etc to complete your look. I hope i explained it alright, if not then i will leave a link on the video i did for this look on my youtube channel. Hiya everyone, so as you know already i have my own youtube channel called Laurensmart1993. I thought i might as well do a post on upcoming videos that will be on the channel. Ok, so i have done youtube for other 6 months now and it is going great but not as well as i thought it might have but oh well life goes on and i will keep sticking at youtube. I love doing youtube, it lets me relax and talk about beauty which i love to do. I would recommend anyone to do youtube but i wouldnt do it if you havent got thick skin. I have got hate comments already and it is really hard to take it in but just ignore them and carry on.

Overview - New Sleek Mediterreanean Collection Video

Hiya everyone, welcome back to my blog. Sorry that i havent done a lot of blogs lately. It is because i am nearing the end of the first year of my business course and there is still a lot of coursework to hand in before the hoildays.

Ok, so enough of the excuses and onto the Video. Ok so this video is from my Youtube channel which is Laurensmart1993. The video is about the new collection from sleek which is The Mediterranean Collection. In this collection there is an eyeshadow palette, a pout polish and a blush. In this video it has swatches of the palette and the blush.
